My love of books began in graphic design and specifically typefaces. In 2008, I volunteered at the annual AIGA Y-Conference in San Diego and during a break I remember seeing a group of students crowding an older gentlemen. As the crowd slowly dispersed, I got up and sat down next to him to see what everyone had been bombarding him with and we ended up just chatting about type and design in general. He was very kind and made me smile when he talked about type. It wasn't until he handed me his business card that I realized it was Doyald Young. A very inspirational man who had a powerful impact on design. I love this photo of him holding one of his books on type (photo from teachevil.com).
I'm a little behind in my graphic design news, forgive my scattered brains.
