It has been a busy month! Finished school with great success and took a much needed family vacation back east for some sunshine. Apparently, California hasn’t gotten the message that it’s spring. Now I’m fully refreshed and ready to get back to work.
This summer I’ll be taking off to Los Angeles for eight weeks to work in the UCLA Conservation Center as their conservation summer intern. I found out this great news while in a parking lot shuttle bus and jumped up and down for joy with my mom hugging me and passengers staring. I’m very excited to learn from Kristen St. John and Jake Nadal about the department and work on exciting new projects.
Along with working this summer in a fantastic environment I am hoping to start studying for the GRE. Anyone who has taken it feel free to share any advice! I also know that they are changing the test this August so I am unsure if it is better to take it before or after these changes go into effect.
I also am taking part of this 30-day challenge by the Domino Project. I love books for the information they have provided me over the years and with such a love for books I am trying to improve my writing and communication skills. It’s important to reflect on what makes us happiest and writing things out from the depths of our mind certainly gives us a clearer picture. It’s a great project and I encouraged others to sign up as well. I really love how Seth Godin is changing the book world and in this society I think Self-Reliance by Ralph Waldo Emerson is what others need to be looking at for inspiration on happiness.
